Dead Man’s Fingers, pictured here and found on Sanibel, is a type of sponge that is frequently found washed up on the beach. Sponges are not plants, they are animals and those that wash up are skeletons. Rather dangerous to cure and clean and the process makes the bright color drain to white. Better to just look!
