Welcome to our Blind Pass condo, the perfect vacation location! Beautiful Bowman’s Beach on the Gulf is just a short walk away. Enjoy shelling, swimming, fishing and spectacular sunsets. A beach cart, beach toys, beach chairs (6), umbrella, coolers, and beach towels make your beach visits a breeze. You can enjoy lounging poolside, playing tennis on one of the two Blind Pass courts, or paddling via a canoe or kayak on Blind Pass bayou (equipment available at the clubhouse free of charge). The complex is close to Sanibel’s bike paths, which are great for walking, running, biking or roller blading (bikes and roller blade rentals available in town). Our unit is light and airy with a tropical décor. The living room’s full-wall mirror brightens the spacious living area and the berber carpeting is warm and comfortable on your feet after a day at the beach. Living room furniture includes a queen-sized sleeper sofa and matching love seat, two swivel/rocking chairs, a ceiling fan, and a flat screen TV with VCR/DVD and a stereo with CD player and iPod charger. Private WIFI is available within the unit. Full wall, floor-to-ceiling drapes provide night-time privacy. The dining area features a solid-wood table that easily seats 6. The kitchen peninsula provides a breakfast area with 2 bar stools. The kitchen comes well-stocked with utensils and appliances including a new slow-cooker and a new Keurig (as well as the traditional Mr. Coffee). Dishwasher, disposal, microwave, and washer/dryer provide all the comforts of home. The master bedroom is equipped with a king-sized bed, Floridian artwork including a heron oil painting overlooking the bed, a ceiling fan, and a small flat-screen TV. All beds in the unit including the sleeper sofa are safeguarded with protective mattress covers. The large walk-in closet provides ample storage room, and includes shelving and a shoe rack to help organize your belongings. The master bathroom contains a full bathtub with sliding glass doors. One hair dryer is available for use between the 2 bathrooms. The guest bedroom is equipped with two double beds and Floridian artwork including a sea gull oil painting and colorful metal wall-sculpture of a crab, a ceiling fan, and a small flat-screen TV. The guest bathroom includes a step-in tiled shower with decorative tile trim. Glass sliding-doors off the dining area lead to the screened-in porch which overlooks a lush tropical setting and is a wonderful place to relax with a cool drink. The porch dining set seats four and is a beautiful dark wicker with a glass table top. A small cart is available for storing bar supplies or serving plates. The porch light is a new “Dark Skies at Night” compliant lighting fixture. The unit’s layout on the second floor provides great sunlight exposure contributing to a living area that is bright, airy and spacious. While you don’t need to bring beach towels, consider bringing masks and snorkels. Masks bring a whole new dimension to shelling in the Gulf! While tennis racquets are available to be checked-out free of charge (if you don’t want to pack them), don’t forget to buy some balls if you want to play. A collapsible fishing pole travels easily and fishing off the beach can provide hours of entertainment for young and old. You can sift through the sand/shells for sand fleas where the shells drop off at the water’s edge to use as live bait (bait shrimp can be bought at the Castaways Marina in San-Tiva). More adventurous fisherman can rent a motor boat for 4 hours or a full day at Jensen’s Marina on Captiva. At Jensen’s, be sure to look for the manatees right off the shore as it is one of their favorite hangouts (and sometimes you can see manatees in the Blind Pass bayou). If you do rent a boat, Cabbage Key is a fun place for lunch or drinks (be sure to check out all the dollar bills on the walls inside, the tortoises that live on the front lawn, and climb up the lookout tower for a great view of the surrounding islands). SPF 50 sun tan lotion comes highly recommended when you’re in and out of the water at the beach or boaating, and bug spray will enhance your sunset viewing experience at the beach. For your grocery shopping list, just a heads up that salt and pepper shakers and sugar bowls will be empty upon your arrival due to health regulations. We hope you have a glorious Sanibel vacation!
