It's time for the annual New Year's Eve Party at the Sanibel Rec Center, tonight from 8 to 12:15. We caught a glimpse of this adorable balloon sculpture at the Rec Center last night. Party includes a DJ, dancing, food, magicians and a balloon drop at midnight. See mysanibel.com for details.
Have you been to the Sanibel Farmers Market? It's definitely worth a visit when you're here — vendors sell local produce, baked goods, pasta and sauce, chocolates, handmade soap, dog treats and much more! Sundays from 8 am to 1 pm (November to April) at a lot by City Hall.
This mound of shells appeared on our beach yesterday after the cool front (OK, the temperature was still 81)!
May the spirit of the holidays find you wherever you may be! Happy holidays to you and your family!
What in the world is this pelican doing?
It's officially winter on Sanibel! The sunrise was beautiful this morning — and it's already 70 degrees at 8 am!
A first sign of winter: while some are making snow angels in the cold white snow, others are making them in the warm golden sand!
You might hear this guy before you see him, knocking away at palms across the island. Can you name this Sanibel favorite? Another great Paul Brooke photo!
